blood:water mission

With Christmas coming every business and charitable organization wants your money. We've gotten four times the amount of catalogs than we normally do, this past month. Everyone wants you to buy your presents from their company. It's so hard to know where to spend your money. You feel so guilty about spending so much money on your friends when their are starving children in Africa. But after buying all the presents you need to, you don't have much more than five dollars left, if even that much. That's why I'd like to tell you about blood:water mission. blood:water mission is an organization Jars of Clay started to build wells in Africa. Dan Haseltine, the lead singer of Jars of Clay said at his concert that 80% of the diseases that people are getting in Africa is because of these people drinking dirty water. blood:water mission is based on the philosophy that if people drink clean water, they'll have clean blood which will eliminate AIDS. They best thing about this company is that 1 African can have clean water for 1 year for 1 dollar. It's such an easy way to help change the World. Dan Haseltine on the blood:water mission site says,

"Clean water is a powerful way to begin a large scale conversation about AIDS. The 1000 Wells Project is a simple campaign that has very little controversy surrounding it. It is difficult to argue whether or not a person should have clean water. It is also difficult to deny the equation: $1= clean water for 1 person for 1 year. And it is vital that the church begin to build relationships with African communities. When a well is built, a conversation is started, a relationship between the church and the community benefiting from the project begins. This is the seed of a worldview shift. This is what excites us about this project."

So let's say you work for minimum wage at $5 dollars an hour and you work for one hour and give that money to blood:water mission. That will mean for just ONE HOUR'S WORK, 5 Africans will get clean WATER FOR ONE YEAR. I encourage you to give at least one dollar to this company and you will completely change someone's life.
